About Our Training
This course is designed based on the premise that sub-Saharan Africa is failing to deliver the 2030 goal of reaching universal energy access. Additionally, the content of this course was built because emerging evidence on gendered energy transitions of urbanising Africa to deal with energy insecurity remains weak, and energy transition studies in Africa that have focused on the gender-energy nexus are limited primarily to rural areas. So, to address these shortcomings, this course aims to bring into debate the need to mainstream a gender perspective into the national and local government energy policy and strategies in a meaningful way that can be measured and monitored.
